A multidisciplinary team of world-renowned Penn Medicine physicians specializing in Pulmonary Medicine/Critical Care, GI Radiology, Otorhinolaryngology, Neurology and Neuropsychology, along with some of the health system’s top Speech Pathologist presented on a wide range of topics to facilitate a multidisciplinary approach to the evaluation and treatment of our patient populations.

Course Overview
Supervised clinical training continues to be a core requirement of the profession of Audiology as well as other professions. However, the skill set needed to provide such supervision is different from the skills needed to be an excellent clinician. This three hour CEU event will provide insight and instruction through lecture and case-based scenarios. This program’s learning objectives include:

1. Review the qualifications and characteristics needed to be an effective preceptor
2. Debunk common myths in precepting
3. Identify specific practice types needed
4. Identify the benefits of precepting to the preceptor and facility 5. Review the responsibilities of training programs to support preceptors

In order for optometrists to apply for a license in New Jersey, the applicant must complete 24 hours of lecture and pass a written examination and take 6 hours of CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (must obtain on their own). Once the optometrist has successfully completed the requirements, Salus University will report the successful completion to the New Jersey Board of Optometry.
