The Salus University community was saddened by the passing of a true visionary in the ophthalmic industry, Gérard Cottet. Those who work or have worked in the optometric profession are quite familiar with Essilor, the largest and one of the most trusted international ophthalmic optical companies in the world.
Dr. Faith Chabedi initiated a non-governmental organization (NGO) that provides eye care to underprivileged children in her native South Africa prior to her enrollment in the Salus MPH program.
At an alumni and friends reception held on July 8, Maureen Duffy, MS ’90, CVRT, was presented with the inaugural Salus University Blindness and Low Vision Studies Alumna of the Year Award.
Last Friday, family, friends, and former colleagues of Dr. Harry Kaplan gathered for a retirement celebration and surprise bench dedication in honor of his 52 years of service to Salus University and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO).
College sweethearts Tim Brown and Sherita Seward came to PCO from their native
South Carolina. Handling optometry school can be daunting enough without any added distractions, but these two student leaders also managed much more all before graduating in 2010!
