Salus University and its clinical facilities will be closed Monday, May 28, 2018 in observance of Memorial Day.
In light of a new academic year, President Mittelman would like to take the time to welcome the University’s newest group of students.
“Wow look at that,” exclaims a student as Dr. Maria Armandi, instructor in the University’s Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO), shows the gathering class of Clinical Skills 4 students a photo of glass stuck in her son’s eye. The real-life example helps visually reinforce one of the topics the class is covering that day – foreign body removal.
The workshop was developed to provide initial exposure to the pediatric patient population for the PA students prior to the start of their clinical rotations in September.
Each summer, Salus University Osborne College of Audiology hosts a two-part series of summer workshops for practicing audiologists to further enhance their clinical knowledge and provide hands-on training in some of the latest tools and technology.
From July 10-21, 13 students from Saudi Arabia, China and Thailand participated in controlled patient care experiences as part of their Master of Science in Clinical Optometry (MSCO) program. The two-week program, led by Drs. Harvey Bonner of Montana and Robert Andersson, MSCO ’10, of Finland, allows students to practice their clinical skills on unique patient cases.
