From November 9-11, faculty, students and alumni from the University’s Osborne College of Audiology (OCA) and Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) department gathered in Los Angeles for one of the biggest professional conferences, the American-Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Convention.
Both the University’s Pennsylvania College of Optometry and Osborne College of Audiology students and faculty members provided much-needed health services during the Special Olympics Pennsylvania Fall Festival, held at Villanova University this past weekend.
The New Jersey Academy of Optometry’s (NJAO) chapter dinner meeting on November 8 included two notable events for the University’s Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO). Not only did chief of the William Feinbloom Vision Rehabilitation Center, Dr. Erin Kenny, present a continuing education seminar, but PCO was also presented with a $10,000 scholarship check.
Blindness and Low Vision Studies chair Dr. Fabiana Perla, COMS, CLVR, recently announced the appointment of Assistant Professor Jamie Maffit, MS, COMS, CLVT, as director of the University’s Orientation and Mobility (O&M) program.
Dr. Lauren Sponseller, Occupational Therapy (OT) Department chair and director of the Master’s in OT program, was recently selected to the American Occupational Therapy Association’s Academic Leadership Institute (ALI). She is one of only 20 participants chosen throughout the U.S.
