Dr. Di Stefano holds the position of Vice President of Academic Affairs and is charged with the overall responsibility for the quality and extent of the educational and research programs delivered by the University. This includes the implementation of the academic policy; the curriculum; the provision of a research environment; and technical support for the education, research and service program by the University. He is also responsible for the Library; technical services and instructional media; the advisory programs; and faculty support, training, and career development.

Dr. Di Stefano was the executive director of the World Council of Optometry, an international organization dedicated to the advancement of eye care around the world, from 1996 to 2006. He is also a professor of Public Health at the University and represents the institution through its academic programs world wide.

Dr. Di Stefano has extensive teaching experience in the areas of community health, epidemiology, healthcare policy and organization, and optometric jurisprudence. He has served as a consultant for the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education and the Middle States Commission on Higher Education to evaluate professional degree programs at schools and colleges nationwide. Public Health Expertise: health policy, international health, health planning, program development, evaluation and administration.
