Pennsylvania College of Optometry HELPING THE COMMUNITY

Held in conjunction with Optometry’s Meeting®

Celebrating our Heritage

Our heritage in Philadelphia is deep – from Ben Franklin’s invention of the bifocal to the establishment of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1919. Our alumni and friends are invited to honor our heritage at a celebration that will coincide with the AOA Optometry’s meeting®. All alumni, including 5-year reunion classes, are welcome to reconnect at one of Philadelphia’s spectacular landmarks. This year’s celebration will include exclusive access to the main exhibit at the National Constitutional Center The Story of We The People.

Helping the Community

Each year thousands of school children receive the vision care they need to be successful learners through our community outreach programs. At community health fairs and screenings our faculty and students uncover undiagnosed ocular disease in adults who do not have access to regular vision care. Our students provide care to underserved populations and witness the power of giving back. Proceeds from this event will help to support these efforts.

We gratefully acknowledge the generosity of our supporters:

Keeler Instruments, Inc.
Luzerne Optical Laboratories, Ltd.

"Quiet but assertive, respectful of its surroundings, considerate of its public, this building is destined to take its place among the nation’s leading public monuments.”
