Gerard Cottet Library
The Gérard Cottet Library serves the information needs of the University community. Located on the first floor of the West Wing, it contains the University’s Center for Computer Assisted Learning (CCAL Lab) and Clinical Problem Solving Classrooms, as well as a spacious open study area, private study rooms, audiovisual stations, and a lounge for leisure reading and browsing.
The Gerard Cottet Library offers students, alumni, faculty, and staff access to electronic resources in the form of nearly 500 full text health sciences journal articles, clinical & evidence based medicine databases, Koha Online Catalog, bibliographic databases, and medical websites.
Full text journals include: EbscoDiscovery, ScienceDirect, Ovid, Access medicine and R2 for eBooks, online medical tutorials, and other reference information.
In addition to our eResources, the Library currently has 11,000 textbooks and periodical holdings, and extensive collections of Ophthalmology and Optometry audio media.
The Library Collection
Monday - Friday - 7:30 a.m. to 11:45 p.m.
Saturday - Sunday - 10 a.m. to 11:45 p.m.
The Library is closed for most national holidays, however, there are exceptions.
Any changes from normal operating hours will be posted.
Antique Spectacles, Visual Aids & Historical Texts
An online museum and encyclopedia of vision aids showcases a collection of images of vision correction tools, documents, and artistic representations of optometric aids and the history of vision corrective technology.
The Library is also home to nearly 300 historical texts including copies of Iris, the Pennsylvania College of Optometry’s published yearbook.
