Dr. Harvey Rude is a Professor and Director of the School of Special Education at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) located in Greeley, Colorado, USA. He is Chairperson of the Navajo Nation Teacher Education Consortium based in Window Rock, Arizona comprised of ten colleges and universities from the states of Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado. Dr. Rude provides leadership to several national projects and is President of the Higher Education Consortium for Special Education (HECSE). Dr. Rude is Past Chairperson of the American Council on Rural Special Education (ACRES), and Director of the Bresnahan-Halstead Center on Disabilities at UNC. Harvey Rude is involved in a variety of international partnerships through partners that include the Thailand Commission on Higher Education, the Ministry of Education in Saudi Arabia, and Sias International University in Henan Province, China. Research interests include multicultural education, international education, leadership and team effectiveness, systems change, professional development impacts, and systems of accountability.
