The U.S. Department of State is interested in sending an American specialist to Mali, this summer, to work with the newly created office of oversight for special education. We are looking for an American specialist who can travel to Mali and work with the Ministry of Education, and its offices responsible for overseeing the special education program and process. This specialist will also be asked to provide an introduction to teachers who are being trained, as well as veteran teachers, for students with special needs, as a means to promote the ability of these students to contribute to Malian society. The American specialist must be fluent in French (which is the official language of Mali), and must have proficiency in American Sign Language.
