This student organization encourages students from all programs to become members.
In 2008, a group of students wanted to form an organization with a focus on children. They envisioned a group of students – with or without children of their own – who would utilize their talents to foster opportunities to help children in the community, as well as provide a welcoming atmosphere for its members and their families.
The students determined that since O.A.S.C. was already in existence at the University, this would be the most expedient way to launch their group. Hence the name remains though the organization’s members are from all Salus degree programs.
This very active chapter participated in several children and adult vision screenings within the community during 2008, volunteering at screenings at local churches and at the Special Olympics.
A pot-luck dinner was held in the Hafter Student Community Center in November and the Fall session ended with a holiday get together for O.A.S.C. members and their families.
