Throughout his naval career, Dr. Cowan served as an academician, practitioner, researcher and teacher with numerous tours of duty around the world. He accepted the invitation to be the keynote speaker of the White Coat Ceremony not only because he believes the ceremony itself is a great idea - celebrating the onset of something – but also because of his close association with University President Michael H. Mittelman, OD ’80, MPH, MBA, FAAO, FACHE.
As the founder of Salus University’s Looking Out for Kids (LOFK) vision care charity fundraiser, one of Dr. Susan Oleszewski’s primary roles was to ensure that there were enough resources every year to provide comprehensive vision care services and eyeglasses to disadvantaged children in the region. Fortunately, Dr. Oleszewski developed a long-standing relationship with Alan Lindy, president of Lindy Property Management, which has proven to be a huge benefit for the LOFK program ever since.
In support of the public phase and in celebration, the University’s Office of Institutional Advancement has created a national series of events – entitled Centennial Tour – which officially announces Focus on Our Future: The Centennial Campaign in 16 cities over the next 90 days.

June 19-23 for the 122nd American Optometric Association (AOA) Congress and 49th American Optometric Student Association Conference (AOSA), better known as Optometry’s Meeting.
It is with great sadness that Salus announces the recent passing of Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO) alumnus Dr. Morey Powell. He passed away on June 13, 2019, at the age of 104.
