The public phase of Salus University’s fundraising campaign in celebration of its founding College, the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, and its 100-year history was announced at the Centennial Gala and Scholarship Fundraiser by president Dr. Michael H. Mittelman. Officially launched on April 27, 2019, Focus on Our Future: The Centennial Campaign aims to raise $5 million by the end of 2020.

Sal the Salamander was born on a sweltering summer day in Philadelphia’s own Fairmount Park in July 2008. He stands proud at four inches tall, has orange speckled skin, and dons a crisp Salus white coat (unless he's in his casual wear).
