William Collins, OD ’47, was active during his years at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO), serving as vice president of the Class of 1944; as a member of the tennis and basketball teams; on the staffs of publications such as the Iris, the Pupil and the Review; and as a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon.

Through his lifetime of activity and involvement in civic, legal, philanthropic, health and welfare organizations and educational institutions, he touched the lives of many Philadelphians.

Dr. Wiener is nationally known as a lecturer, author, and practitioner of developmental and behavioral optometry. In 1982, he chaired a special committee at PCO to advise faculty and administration on curricular changes incorporating behavioral optometric practice.
