Bre Myers AuD ‘07 is the first faculty member from the Osborne College of Audiology to complete the degree, defending her dissertation, “Acoustic Stimulus Effects on Functional Balance Measures,” in November to currently enrolled PhD students as well as faculty and committee members Victor Bray, PhD, Martin Pienkowski, PhD, and external reviewer Devin McCaslin, PhD, of the Mayo Clinic. She will receive her degree at commencement on May 25.
The Hear-oes “Just Like Me” program is open to children ages four through eleven-years-old and will be held at the Hafter Student Community Center on Saturday, March 25 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

According to the American Tinnitus Association (ATA), this condition—commonly referred to as “ringing in the ears”—affects nearly 45 million people in the United States and of those, 20 million have chronic tinnitus.
At an early age, Dr. Bre Myers acquired a profound love for music and found herself intrigued at how certain songs, sounds, and lyrics could generate such intense feelings in different individuals. Studying the ear appeared to be a natural fit for her.
