April 27, 2024: Tracheostomy Management for the SLP

9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Elkins Park, Pennsylvania

The Department of Speech-Language Pathology at Salus University invites you to Tracheostomy Management for the SLP, a continuing education course presented by Simerjit Sethi, MS, CCC-SLP at our Elkins Park, PA campus.

Do you feel like you walked away from graduate school or even your CF without the confidence to treat a tracheostomy patient? This highly specialized population is showing up at more and more settings outside of acute care and many providers don’t know how to treat them. If your colleagues are turning to you as the tracheostomy expert and you find yourself feeling nervous on what to do next - then this course is for you!

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  • Explain anatomy and physiology and the impact of tracheostomies.
  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment of individuals with tracheostomies.
  • Establish appropriate goals for tracheostomized and ventilated patients.
  • Identify supplies and tools utilized with tracheostomy management.
