Why did you choose Salus?

Olivia in her white coatWhen applying to Physician Assistant (PA) programs, Salus was recommended to me by my undergraduate pre-health counselor for the strong connections and positive experiences other students from Dickinson College had while attending this program. After doing my own research, it was clear to me that Salus was a highly sought after program with amazing PANCE pass rates, course and content offerings, and faculty who currently work in the field as PAs and are therefore equipped with the most current medical knowledge.

Comparing Salus to other programs I interviewed with, I was so impressed by how welcomed I felt by students and faculty from the day I interviewed. The cohort above seemed well prepared and pleased with their education, highlighting their pre-clinical experiences, standardized patient encounters, and course content such as Integrative Medicine and Community Health (courses not always offered at other schools) as unique factors they loved about their program. Coming from an LGBTQ+ family, it was important to me that I would be taught equitable and inclusive medicine. I was reassured by Salus’s mission statement and desire to integrate DEI and inclusive medicine into its curriculum that this would be an environment where I could learn to provide equitable care to all individuals and be accepted for who I am and where I came from.

The Salus community has been nothing but supportive from my first day, reassuring me that I made the right choice in where I would learn to become the provider I want to be!
