Scholarship opportunity to increase representation in the O&M and TVI professions

The Department of Blindness and Low Vision Studies (BLVS) has received funding from the US Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) to increase diversity among O&M and TVI professionals by supporting students who are multilingual and/or come from traditionally underrepresented groups in our fields. Accepted students to the O&M or TVI programs who fit the intent of these projects are encouraged to apply!

  • Funding awards are limited and contingent on being admitted into the O&M or TVI program, which is a separate and independent process.

Those selected will receive:

  • Scholars will receive financial support sufficient for tuition and non-tuition expenses, which can be customized to meet the scholars’ individual needs
  • Academic and nonacademic supports throughout the program

Some internal scholarships are temporarily suspended and are being reassessed. We appreciate your understanding as we review our funding priorities and processes.
