University Accreditation

Salus University is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, 1007 North Orange Street, 4th Floor, MB #166, Wilmington, DE 19801. (267-284-5011) The MSCHE is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

The University is authorized to offer degrees by the Department of Education of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and is approved for Veterans’ education under U.S. Code, Section 1775.

Student Complaints against the University may be filed with MSCHE or the PDE.

Pennsylvania College of Optometry:

  • The Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree program is accredited by the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education (ACOE) of the American Optometric Association (AOA). The next scheduled accreditation visit will be in 2025. 
  • The on-campus and affiliated residency programs are accredited by the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education (ACOE) of the American Optometric Association (AOA).

Graduates are eligible for professional licensure in all states and eligible to apply for the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) certificate of clinical competence in audiology (CCC-A) and the American Board of Audiology (ABA) certification in audiology.

College of Health Sciences, Education and Rehabiliation:

  • The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) has granted Accreditation-Continued status to the Salus University Physician Assistant (PA) Program sponsored by Salus University. Accreditation-Continued is an accreditation status granted when a currently accredited program is in compliance with the ARC-PA Standards. Accreditation remains in effect until the program closes or withdraws from the accreditation process or until accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the Standards. The approximate date for the next validation review of the program by the ARC-PA will be March 2034. The review date is contingent upon continued compliance with the Accreditation Standards and ARC-PA policy.
  • The University's Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT)​ degree program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) through 2025-2026.   • The Master of Science in Orthotics & Prosthetics degree program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs ( upon the recommendation of the National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education (NCOPE). The next evaluation of the program is scheduled to occur no later than 2029. Pennsylvania Department of Education

The Master of Science degree program in Speech-Language Pathology at Salus University is accredited by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE). This accreditation allows graduates of the program to obtain certification as an Educational Specialist – School Speech and Language Pathologist PK-12 in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

  • Blindness and Low Vision Studies Programs:
    • The Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments program has received Approved Certification Program status by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE), 333 Market Street Harrisburg, PA 17126, 717-783-6788. PDE evaluates program providers in a seven-year cycle as mandated by 22 Pa. Code § 49.13(d) to provide all stakeholders in the Commonwealth with assurance of program quality and professional educator competency.
    • AER Accreditation logoThe Orientation and Mobility, Vision Rehabilitation Therapy, and Low Vision Rehabilitation programs have full accreditation status by the AER Accreditation Council (AERAC) of the Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired (AER), 5680 King Centre Drive, Suite 600 Alexandria, VA 22315. University and college programs that are fully accredited have demonstrated, through performance, systems, processes, faculty and procedures, that they offer a high-quality learning experience and preparation for jobs and certifications.
