MASTER OF SCIENCE IN CLINICAL OPTOMETRY WITH AN ADVANCED STUDIES CERTIFICATE DEGREE PROGRAM
Salus University offers a Master of Science in Clinical Optometry (MSCO) with an Advanced Studies Certificate Degree program for international ophthalmic practitioners desiring to advance their knowledge and skills in optometric care and to experience specialized training within a specific content area. This degree program is not an entry-to-practice degree program in the United States. Students who successfully complete the MSCO program are eligible to apply to the Advanced Placement Doctor of Optometry
degree program offered by the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University.
This degree program features courses in the biomedical sciences and visual sciences, clinical skills, including patient care, and scholarly applications. Students also earn a certificate in their choice of one of the following specialized content areas:
The program is delivered in 38 semester hour credits over a 12-month period and is currently being offered in two different tracks. One track utilizes a full-time on-campus delivery model and one track utilizes a hybrid delivery format. For the hybrid delivery track, most lectures are delivered online and students are required to come to campus for a total of approximately 8 weeks of face-to-face training at the Elkins Park, PA, campus divided into three different sessions of approximately 2-2.5 weeks in duration.
