Diane Adamczyk, OD ‘85

Alumni from all our programs recently provided memories from their time as students here on campus. Below is one excerpt from the collection.

Diane Adamczyk headshotI attended a top-notch school, the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO), that laid the foundation for a wonderful career. At PCO I was a member of the New Jersey and American Optometric Student Associations and participated in the Student Optometric Service to Humanity in Haiti.

After graduating, I completed a residency and went into optometric education. This not only allowed me to be a healthcare provider - the first doctor in my family - but also allowed me to fulfill a lifelong dream of teaching in a higher education setting.

During my career, I have had the opportunity to lecture worldwide and publish. I have served as chief of the Primary Care Service, externship director and my current role is as director of Residency Education at the State University of New York (SUNY) College of Optometry.

I am grateful for my career and grateful for PCO and all those who have made PCO what it is and for providing me with an outstanding education.
