Salus and Arcadia University MOU

On Friday, December 18, President Mittelman and members of the Salus President’s and Academic Councils visited Arcadia University, where a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two institutions was signed with Arcadia President Nicolette DeVille Christensen.

dr. mittelman and Nicolette DeVille ChristensenSalus and Arcadia have had a collaborative relationship since 1986, when an affiliation agreement was signed with Pennsylvania College of Optometry. That agreement, different from an MOU, allows Arcadia students to transfer to Salus PCO in their third year to begin their four-year Doctor of Optometry degree program. As Dr. Mittelman noted, “Our long-standing relationship is now even stronger. Arcadia, as a globally focused institution, shares many common goals with us. This is an ideal collaboration for our students, faculties and surrounding communities.” Salus has a number of four and two-year affiliation agreements with other universities across different Salus degree programs.

Today’s MOU with Arcadia serves as a formal agreement between the two schools to encourage collaborative activities in education, research, and community service in fields of mutual interest. Additionally, faculty and students from both institutions may participate in conferences, seminars and workshops, and there is an opportunity for more collaborative articulation agreements. Salus has many active MOUs with institutions here and overseas that have provided student and faculty engagement across a number of educational pathways.
