Second-year students Jenessa Stiles and Mary Jordan were recently awarded a travel grant from the Salus University Alumni Association in order to fund their travels to the American Academy of Audiology Conference in Phoenix, Arizona.
SOSH (Students in Optometric Service to Humanity) at Salus University has been named the first SVOSH Chapter of the Month. SVOSH, the student version of Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH), will be highlighting volunteer work provided in both local and international communities by SVOSH chapters.
Thousands took part in the annual MuckFest MS Philadelphia 5K Mud and Fun Run on Saturday, June 4 and 5 in Glen Mills, PA. The University’s team - Philadelphia’s largest team with 78 members - raised over $3,000 through generous donations.
The world’s largest gathering of eye and vision researchers took place in Seattle earlier this month. Among the more than 75,000 attendees from 11 countries at the Association of Researchers in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) annual conference were three of the University’s PhD in Biomedicine candidates, Noura Aldossary, Aljoharah Alkanaan, and Wafa Al-Oltaibi, all of whom had posters on display.
The Salus PCO Quiz Bowl competition was held on April 29 at the Hafter Student Community Center before a crowd of 150. The winner was Leslie Gauntlett ’18OD, who will represent Salus PCO at the 2017 Varilux Student Bowl.
