In September, Dr. Lynn Greenspan, Salus PCO assistant professor, received an award from the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO) “in appreciation of her work with the National Board.” Dr. Greenspan have served on the NBEO for six years on the Part 1- Applied Basic Science Examination Committee, as well as on the Exam Council. All optometry students take the national board exams in three parts. Two parts are written in multiple choice format and the third part is a live, in-person, practical exam on a model patient. The three parts of the national board exam serve as a minimum competency prerequisite when applying for a license to practice in most every state.
