Salus University Welcomes New Faculty Member

Dr. David MeltzerThe University’s Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO) recently welcomed David Meltzer, OD as a new faculty member.

In his new role as assistant professor, Dr. Meltzer will provide instruction in preclinical skills and laboratory.  Dr. Meltzer received his bachelor’s degree from Allegheny University of Health Sciences in 1998. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO) in 2002. Upon graduation, Dr. Meltzer joined the United States Army and worked as an optometrist in Germany, Iraq, and Italy before returning to the United States.

Most recently working as adjunct assistant clinical professor at SUNY College of Optometry, and chief of optometry at Keller Army Community Hospital in West Point, NY, Dr. Meltzer now returns to his alma mater to help teach the next generation of optometrists.

“I am really excited to start a new phase in my career leaving the military and returning to PCO as a professor,” Dr. Meltzer said.
