Madelyn Herron, Speech-Language Pathology

Why did you choose Speech-Language Pathology?

Madelyn wearing a white dress holding her grad capI chose to pursue a career in Speech-Language Pathology because of my lifelong passion for working with children and helping individuals live more fulfilling lives. I've always been drawn to the profession because it allows me to work with individuals of all ages across a variety of settings. I chose the Speech-Language Pathology program at Drexel University because of its comprehensive clinical training sequence and strong focus on real-world application. Through the on-campus clinic, the Speech-Language Institute (SLI), I've gained valuable experience working directly with a variety of clients each week, which has given me the opportunity to immediately apply concepts learned in the classroom to clinical practice. These experiences, combined with the guidance and support of the faculty, have created an environment that encourages professional and personal growth while providing me with the skills and experiences necessary to contribute meaningfully to today's health care and education fields as a future speech-language pathologist.
