Olivia Omernik, Occupational Therapy

Why did you choose Occupational Therapy?

Olivia holding her grad capI chose Drexel's Occupational Therapy (OT) program because it felt like home from the moment I interviewed. The opportunities for growth that Drexel offers align perfectly with the kind of occupational therapist I want to become. The faculty was incredibly welcoming and supportive. I immediately felt a genuine connection with them. Their passion for the profession and commitment to student success made it easy to picture myself growing both personally and professionally within the program. I was also drawn to the small cohort size because I wanted to be part of a supportive environment where I could build meaningful relationships with both faculty and my classmates. What truly solidified my decision was the opportunity for international fieldwork. Previously having participated in a medical mission experience abroad, I saw firsthand the impact that healthcare professionals can have in communities with limited resources. That experience inspired me to serve others beyond my own community and furthered my desire to continue learning from diverse populations while making a meaningful difference.
