Personalized attention, enthusiastic staff, and motivational programs and classes are just some of the perks to having a membership here at the Hafter Student Community Center (HSCC). Our membership options are available to all Drexel University employees, retirees, alumni, and the outside community. Our obligation is to our members, ensuring each individual has the fundamentals necessary to grow, learn and achieve their health and fitness goals.
Joining the HSCC will grant you access to all our facility has to offer including all group exercise classes. Members have the option of choosing between a 1-month, 3-month, and annual membership. All members must be 18 years or older to purchase a membership.

Our Staff
Maria Alexandrowicz-Purcell was named Drexel's assistant director of recreation, business and Hafter Center operations in July 2026. She recently transitioned from business coordinator of athletics and recreation from Drexel University City Campus. At Elkins Park, she oversees, analyzes, and coordinates the full recreation and wellness budget, along with overseeing the programs, memberships and business development in external revenues.
Before arriving at Drexel, Purcell worked for three years at Cabrini University as the athletics department manager in business affairs. Her duties included assisting with budget management, accounts and transfers along with invoices/payments, purchase orders, contracts and RFP’s. Purcell was also an assistant soccer coach and goalkeeping instructor at Cabrini.
Prior to Cabrini, Purcell was the director of soccer and futsal at United Sports Training Center in Downingtown, Pennsylvania.
Purcell attended Millersville University where she was a part of the women’s soccer team. She was also the head varsity girls lacrosse coach at Lampeter Strasburg for five seasons, and the assistant women’s soccer coach at Ursinus College prior to Cabrini. Purcell and her wife, Erin, reside in Pennsauken, New Jersey, with their son Henry.
Parker McNair joined the Drexel community in March 2026 in his current role of university recreation coordinator for the Hafter Center. In this position, he oversees intramurals, group exercise classes, and the student staff.
Before coming to Drexel, Parker received his bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Oregon where he worked as a manager in the REC Center and coached JV soccer. After graduation, he completed an AmeriCorps service term in Portland, Oregon, where he worked with high school students in an effort to increase equity and accessibility of higher education. Upon finishing his year of service, he worked as an academic advisor in the Honors College at Arizona State University.
